Getting There

The recommended and indeed the only practical way of getting to Hotel Mance is by car. Brod na Kupi lies in the heart of the mountainous region known as Gorski Kotar, and a private vehicle imparts the essential flexibility not only for getting there but also for exploring nature's wonders in that area. It involves a scenic drive through beautiful forested landscapes. From the main A6 motorway between Zagreb and Rijeka, take off at Delnice; then follow local roads for about 20-30 minutes to the village. The hotel has free on-site parking.

Rijeka Airport (RJK) actually located on the island of Krk and Zagreb Airport (ZAG) are the two major airports closest to this region for international travelers. Rijeka would be much closer, only about an hour and fifteen-minute drive to the hotel while from Zagreb it is approximately a 90-minute drive. The most logical choice is to rent a car from either of these airports. Visiting this part of Croatia without a car will not be possible.

Public transportation does not prove to be a convenient option to get to this remote village. You would have to get long-distance buses that ply up to the bigger town of Delnice, after which you will have to use very infrequent local bus services or pre-book an expensive taxi for the last 15 kilometers into Brod na Kupi. For a comfortable and easy trip, a personal or rental car is highly recommended.
